One of the biggest misconceptions about laser hair removal is that all diode lasers are the same. This is not true. Diode laser is just a technology, but the quality, performance and efficiency of the machines can vary enormously. Just as it doesn’t matter what brand of car you drive, there are huge differences between the devices available on the market when it comes to laser machines.
The Hungarian market is full of cheap, Chinese-made diode lasers, which are often chosen by service providers because of their low prices. Not only are these machines less effective, but they often lack the appropriate certification to ensure stable and safe operation. Technology alone is not enough – the quality of the machine is key.

Is laser hair removal permanent?

ElysionPro attacks the pigment of the hair follicle with laser pulses that cause the destruction of the hair follicle at high temperatures without damaging the skin. Thus, the hair effectively treated by Elysion Pro will NOT grow, in other words, the results are permanent.
The condition of the final result is that the guest complies with the rules, discloses his health problems, and follows the instructions of the specialist throughout the treatments. It may happen that a repeat treatment is necessary every 2-3 years due to an ingrown hair, but this depends on the individual.
The treatment is 95% permanent, however factors such as hormonal changes can result in new hair growth, which may require further treatment.
How many treatments are necessary?
This depends on the type of skin, the quality and quantity of the hair. On average, 6-8 treatments on the body and 8-10 on the face are recommended. At one time, approximately 20-25% of the hairs on a body are in the growth phase. This is the reason why the treatment must be repeated, despite the fact that the hair follicles available at that time are permanently destroyed in just one treatment.
Is it painful?
No, there may be a maximum tingling sensation at some points, depending on individual sensitivity. Laser hair removal treatment performed with an older or lower-quality machine can be downright painful. In contrast, the ElysionPro treatment heads are equipped with a so-called CRYSTAL-FREEZE cooling system: the ice-cold, 6℃ treatment head reduces the temperature caused by laser radiation on the surface of the skin for maximum comfort and skin protection. Thanks to this, the treatment remains effective, but does not involve pain.
When is the treatment not applicable?
Elysion Pro laser hair removal cannot be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding, on inflamed, burned skin, tattooed areas (this is covered), during drug treatment causing photosensitivity, during herpes simplex virus, in the presence of diabetes, in the presence of keloid scarring, in the presence of malignant tumor processes and if sunbathing has happened recently or is planned in the next few days.
Are there any side effects of the Elysion Pro laser treatment?
The treatment is usually comfortable, complications rarely occur. Rarely, but they may occur, for example: the appearance of temporary hyper- or hypopigmentation in certain areas, a burning sensation, which is usually temporary, skin scarring, edema, skin redness, temporary bruising and temporary discoloration of the skin. These symptoms subside after a few hours, or in some cases a few days, and disappear completely.
Is there a minimum age limit for the treatment?
No, but parental consent is required under the age of 18. For girls, it is worth waiting for a 1-year regular menstrual cycle, due to the hormonal changes, as it affects hair growth.
What to do before your laser appointment?

❌ Don’t wax, tweeze, epilate or use chemical depilatories 3-4 weeks prior to your appointment, because laser targets the roots of the hair.
✅ Shaving is OK.
❌ Avoid sun exposure or tanning beds 5 days prior to your appontment. Or use SPF50 if the treated area can’t be covered.
❌ Avoid tanning lotions (or any melanin activators) 15 days prior to your appointment.
❌ Avoid working out, saunas and swimming pools on the day of your appointment.
❌ Stop peeling, scrubbing your skin 1 week prior to your appointment.
❌ Do not use any products (acids, retinols…etc.) or drugs that cause photosensitivity 1 week prior to your appointment.
✅ Hydrate your skin regularly, but avoid any products on the treated area on the day of your appointment.
✅ Arrive with clean skin (no creams, deodorants, makeup) on the treated area.
✅ Shave the treated area the night before your treatment. Shaving is the only form of hair removal recommended during your laser hair removal treatment.
What to do after your laser appointment?
❌ Avoid sunbathing and solarium for 5 days after the treatment.
✅ You need to shave your hair during the whole treatment, no waxing or plucking.
❌ Don't go to a swimming pool, sauna or take a hot bath for 1-3 days, don't do sports for 2 days.
❌ In the case of underarm treatment, do not use antiperspirant on the same day.
✅ Hydrate your skin during the whole treatment.
✅ In summer, it is important to use a 50 SPF sunscreen.
